Inspired by the night sky, the wonders of nature after dark, or the need to reduce our artificial illumination of the outdoors? You are at the right place to express yourself with an entry in the Texas Night Sky Festival® Writing Contest.

The Festival Writing Contest is now open for poetry and short story / essay entries with categories for youth, adults, and published authors. Entries will be accepted until January 15, 2017. Finalists will be notified at least one week prior to the March 18, 2017 Festival. Award winners will be announced and their winning entries read at the Festival. NightScape Magazine will publish the winning entries and they will be featured on the host organizations websites.

The Festival Writing Contest Team is delighted to announce that Naomi Shihab Nye, of San Antonio, will be the juror to select the award winners from the contest finalist.
